Miss Ally

The last time I saw Ally I think she was four??  Anyway too much time went by since I had seen her or her mom, Missy or her dad, John.  Missy and John, you must be so proud of Ally.  She is a beautiful child with such a sweet spirit.  Can’t wait to see you guys again!

Week of March 23rd observations

Here are some random observations/images of spring and Old Hickory Village.

I love the spring rain. I love the threat of severe storms, thunder, lightning and winds. This is my favorite puddle in my neighborhood at 11th and Birdsall. It is such a work of art. I try to photograph it as much as I can because I always see something different in it.

This puddle is a few feet away from my favorite puddle. It is a little more subtle but just as beautiful.

Spring brings us these works of art from the Maple tree. The whirly bird. Beautiful spring green.

The saucer magnolia bloom. The first sign that spring is just around the corner.

Second sign of spring: the violets. I absolutely LOVE violets. Some consider them a weed but there is nothing more magnificent than a yard full of these sweet white and purple faces in early spring.

China Dolls: 6 months

I love natural light!  I really needed a way to challenge myself so I pulled out my Alien Bee mono light and my Alien Bee ring light and offered some mini session spots to some friends and clients.  I will be blogging the results of these sessions over the next few days.  They are in no particular order.

These beautiful babies are Nashville royalty.  I say this because their family roots are deeply planted in this city.  You, the reader, probably know someone they are related too.  I think they are so so so sweet and remind me of china dolls!!

Happy Birthday sweet Hylton!

Such a sweetie pie!  Hylton is turning one. His mom, Jessica, hired me to photograph him not only to mark his first year, but to also design some unique birthday invites.   I love this family.  I photographed his aunt Maggie’s wedding.   Hylton’s big brother, Baker, also appears in my portfolio.

This image was chosen for the front of the bday invite.

Go Speed Racer!!

Almost every day when the air is warm and full of the promise of spring, you will hear the sound of a child’s laughter coming into my house from the side street.   Jackson loves his Radio Flyer car.  His dad is getting a great workout!

A happy Jackson!
