Tonight the most fabulous rainbow sat over our city! I was out walking with my 100 macro and was only able to get pieces of this work of art, by the time I got home and switched to a wider the lens the rainbow was disappearing. I think it is really a good sign to see a rainbow.

Music and Nature: The Lake with The Vespers
This past Saturday, The Vespers, came to the neighborhood to play a house party. Maybe I should call it a pool/driveway/beautiful view of the lake party!! It was so much fun and if you have not heard The Vespers you must check them out…. two sisters with voices so beautiful, and two brothers: when they all get together amazing, mesmerizing music is created!! Thank you Callie, Phoebe, Taylor and Bruno for playing an amazing set of music under challenging circumstances and to Music City Roots who put the show all together. Fantastic music, beautiful views, yummy food and fabulous friends made this one unforgettable experience! Glad the MCR people made it safe to New York for the Americana Honors and Awards Nominee Announcement Party, thank you for all your hard work.
Check out The Vespers website for tour dates and info. Be sure to also look at the cute flower hair pieces that Phoebe makes and sells!
And The Vespers have a new video, ‘Will You Love Me” which is really pretty!

It’s Only Just Begun: Tennessee Nature Photographer
The show of thirteen year cicadas, Brood XIX… It has only just started. It is day four since I saw my first bug. I was actually getting sad as friends further south were talking and posting photos of these guys and up here there was nothing. Be careful what you wish for! I have been fascinated by them but must admit the creep factor is sneaking in for me. Each day in the morning there are more and each day at least one decides to crawl up my leg while I am photographing his relatives at their utility pole birthing center! It is only going to get more intense and I heard a bug guy on tv say in the next week or two we will start to see the swarms. Yay! Not! I have been two 13 year cycles: 85 and 98 and while I kinda remember them I was really not that interested in why they are here or how they develop. This time with camera in hand I want to learn about and get over the creep factor.

Cicada newly emerged, wings inflated, from his exoskeleton. In about an hour or so he will turn to his full adult color.
