Sweet little Maggie just six days old napping on the porch in her momma’s arms. Welcome to this earth sweet baby!
Check out more sweet earth babies here!
I photographed this session on Halloween of last year and figured I should post this as I have completed Tate’s Nine Month Session. Tate’s parents are documenting Tate’s first year as they did with their oldest, Ansley. I love going to their house and seeing photos hanging and sitting on tables. They buy small prints and Kaelin displays them with larger matts and beautiful frames. Must be her interior designing skills!!

I absolutely loved this session. Sweet, beautiful little baby, an adoring big sister, cool mom and dad and a wonderful clan of three dogs!
It always does my heart good to be asked back into people’s lives to photograph their growing family. I first met Lindsay and Clay when they were married. Last year I went to their house to photograph them with their first baby, Yoko, a sweet little black and cream shih tzu bundle of furry goodness. They wanted some photos for the wall and a cool Christmas card to send to family and friends. So this year a little human has come along. He is just a little over a month old in these photos and is just the cutest little guy. He has a big name but his mom and dad call him Mister.
Last week I took a trip to the Nashville Zoo. It had really been too long, two months since I had seen the little baby clouded leopards. They have gotten so big and the girl has already left for her new home at the National Zoo in Washington DC. She is going there to get acquainted with the baby clouded leopard cubs born this year as possible mates. So it is just Luke and Chet. I wonder if they miss their sister? Here are some photos of the cubs along with some of my other friends who were out enjoying the warm, autumn air one afternoon last week. Another interesting thing while I was at the zoo this particular afternoon: I witnessed three separate scuffles. Two meerkats were at it, two lorikeets were at it and two of the gibbons were at it.

Such a beautiful face.

Big...yyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnn.....prrrrrrrrr....

What's that I see over there?

Handsome profile!

The boys kept looking up... there was a squirrel tormenting them.

Relaxing.

This is from the creek that runs through the Gibbons exhibit. I like the reflections.

The meerkat.

Silly goat.

Gotee.

Mr. Giraffe.

Knobby knees.

I cannot remember the name of this bird, he/she is related to the roadrunner and makes a really cool coo sound.

This guy was beautiful when he spread his wings... too fast and I was too occupied with the thought of lorikeets running into me.

Lorikeets.

Two more of one of the boys.
I just love this family. These kids have so much imagination. Their personalities shine through in these images.

Looking serious.

I really like this image. AC refused to join the group. She is wearing a dress that her mom wore.

The youngest...so sweet.

With mom.

The next few images are my favorites from the session. I love all the messiness and chaos.

and more chaos!

This makes me laugh!

The orange and pink tutu.

So great to have brothers and a sister.

Hamming it up for the camera!
Meet Tate and her sister Ansley. I photographed their parents wedding about 6 years ago! They keep coming back to me and I am thankful for their love of my work. We did Ansley’s first year photos a few years ago and now have begun Tate’s. Here she is at 3 months. Check out these sweet girls and their Momma!!

Tate and Kaelin. All window light.

Tate's big sister, Ansley. All window light!

I love this image.

"Cute, cute little baby, little fingers, little toes!"

I have always thought Ansley was wise.

Tate distracted by her sister.

Cuteness!!

The girls on the front porch.
The clouded leopard cubs made their debut today! You can read about them and their story and future here at the Nashville Zoo website. I was so excited for today. It brought back memories of when I lived in St. Louis and was about nine years old. I had dreams of becoming a zoologist. My mom would take me to the zoo alot and one of my best memories was when Alice and Arlo, a pair of lion cubs, made their appearance.
The drive to the Nashville Zoo is a nostalgic one for me. Traveling down Nolensville Road I have memories of attending Radnor Baptist kindergarten, going to Turntines, going to visit my dad at the Western Auto warehouse on Trousdale and trying to remember which building was the Western Auto retail store. All these memories… I felt that same excitement as I did when I was a little girl going to the St. Louis zoo. Couldn’t wait… dreamed that maybe, just maybe I would be able to touch one of the leopard cubs. These little guys are fast and furious movers… you see lots of big paws, teeth and blur!!

Probably my favorite from the day. Playing in the tree. Shows just how playful these two guys and one girl are.

Contemplating the next move and taking a little catnap. I was really lucky as I got to get closer to the cage fence for a few minutes. I was sooooo excited to be pretty close to these babies... when they would come close I just had to watch them. It was hard to pick up the camera.

Having a good time playing!

Thinking about the... next time I climb the tree.

The cubs next door neighbor who is in hiding for awhile.

I love this one.

Playing chase.

Hello everybody!!!

It's fun being up here and all but I am a little scared to come back to the ground.

These kitties drink water just like my cats do.
June 30th of this year this little guy entered our lives here in the village. He was a stray following some walkers. He made his way into my neighbors yard. Jeannie and Eric totally fell in love with him. Who wouldn’t? Right now he is about 12 weeks old with teeth as sharp as a needle. The vet says he is a lab/daschund mix. You should feel the pads of his paws… they feel like leather. He is my new muse. Enjoy watching this puppy grow!
