This past weekend I visited the Cheekwood here in Nashville to check out the Chihuly exhibit. It is beautiful! The afternoon was hot with an okay breeze so I did not see everything. My plan is to return for a Chihuly night to get photos in the late afternoon light and at night when the sculptures are illuminated.
And some lotus flowers and pods.
One of the best things about spring is the arrival of the beautiful pink blossoms of the saucer magnolia tree. It brings hope to the late winter blahs and blues. They are just beautiful with either gray skies or blue skies. As the petals fall of the tree to reveal it’s leaves it creates this beautiful plush carpet under the tree. I could spend hours documenting this magnificent tree!
Over the holidays I went to the Baltimore Aquarium with family. I had not been there in maybe 15 years. So fascinating…. too bad I am claustrophobic otherwise I would be snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming around with these guys!

dangerous beauty
I have been fascinated with this flower for years. I was so happy to see my neighbor’s banana tree with a blossom. He promised that when he cut the plants back and dug up the roots for winter he would bring the blossom to me. A few weeks ago he delivered! I became pseudo biologist and had some fun exploring and photographing such a beautiful creation.
I created these on my way back from looking for the moon last night!
