This little one is determined!! She wants to walk and has just the other began to crawl. She is sweet, funny, attentive, curious, smart and is going to be running around the block before her parents and older brother know it!
Only six months old!

Bluegrass Underground started the 2011 year with a huge bang!! Two groups who are probably the funniest, most entertaining I have seen in a while! Cumberland Caverns will never be the same. The crowd was LARGE. Not since the taping back in May for PBS has the crowd been this big.
After a great mini warm up by the fabulous Travis Stinson, The Cleverly’s took the stage. Doing renditions of “I Gotta a Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas, “I Kissed a Girl” by Katy Perry and “Walk Like an Egyptian” by the Bangles one cannot help but smile and dance in their seats. I think they would be a fabulous band to have a wedding! I would coin these guys as nerdy, modern cowboys. They left me full of inspiration.
The headliners took the stage next. Riders in the Sky not only are colorful musically but their dress, stage set and stories of the cowboy way will keep one with a colorful smile on one’s face! I just adored these guys. So humble to have won so many awards. Their set with stuffed armadillos, a Woody (Toy Story) doll, creative campfire and cactus had me wondering and anticipating their performance. So much great music that comes from the cave…I may just have to buy another ipod to hold it all.
Happy Trails to you Ghost Riders in the Sky traveling through the Tumbling Tumbleweeds!!
I will always remember the flood of 2010. One building that sustained serious damage was Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center. They were closed for months, a chain link fence surrounding the building, no music coming from it’s heart.
My friend, Elizabeth James, wedding planner guru called me a few months ago to see if I was interested in photographing the first wedding at the SSC after it’s grand re opening and the first one of 2011. I said yes! What a fabulous decision!
A few weeks ago I met the bride, Cathy and Elizabeth at the symphony to do Cathy’s bridal portrait session. Here are a few of my favorites!
Saturday, January 1, 2011 Cathy married Ben! Here are some preliminary images from the day.
The entrance foyer was transformed into an elegant ceremony space.
Tulip Tree did a bang up job on creating a vintage winter wonderland.
Maples Wedding Cakes created a funky, elegant, organic cake with gray pearlized fondant. It was just beautiful. Reminding me not only of flower petals but also had a Chihuly feel to them. The cake was really yummy too. Wish I had a piece now.
More favorites from the day in no particular order.
If I had to have a goal for 2011… it would be to travel more to locations far and near! I have been looking at some “vintage” images from the nineties and am really getting the itch.

Another view from Going to the Sun highway. I was so in love at this time of my life, all ready to move to Montana for a man! I still love Montana and would love to go back.

glacier creek, I admit I took some rocks from the creek and made some really heavy jewelry with them
Today, December 30th, 2010 it is 60 outside! Tomorrow we are suppose to have thunderstorms. While I am thankful that there is no ice or bad roads or a city shut down because of a blizzard, I should wouldn’t mind winter to return. I love the light and shadows that winter provides and the colors. I guess I should be careful what I wish for but the snow a few weeks back was so pretty and the frosty morns give me good reason to smuggle my camera under my coat while taking Bear for a walk. Did you know that Bear is shedding because it has gotten warmer. I have almost brushed out a full “sweater” of Bear fur.
