This is a lovely story. My friends after years of waiting have welcomed a baby girl into the world and their lives through adoption. How exciting it is that they asked me to photograph Chloe while she was still tiny, only nine days old. She was so alert and think she is going to be really smart. Look out mom and dad!! I have known Brad and Chantelle for years. I photographed their wedding at Craigfont in Gallatin and worked with Brad. They have been parents to several sweet four legged children including Tululah who has amazing eyes and Jasmine, the bengal cat who is smart as a whip. Being a birth mom myself, I know the struggles and heart break of letting a child go. It is painful and stays with you for your entire life. You can only hope and pray that the people who are now your child’s parents will love your child as much or more than you could. I know B & C are going to be incredible parents with more love for Chloe than anyone else in this world!!

Nashville Nature Photographer: Can We Please Say Goodbye to Winter?
Just what the title indicates, I am ready for spring. I realize we have been spoiled the past few years with milder winters and this winter is making up for it as I fear the next few winters also will. The spring can not come soon enough for me. I can’t wait to get out in the garden and see it thrive. I read somewhere that the spring will be very active and so I will have to take extra measures to keep my little plants safe. Things are changing and that is good sign. I still have heat and electricity, that is a good thing! And I have been able to get some beautiful images that would not be possible without the snow. Winter, I can not wait to say goodbye and see you next year!

I absolutely loved this session. Sweet, beautiful little baby, an adoring big sister, cool mom and dad and a wonderful clan of three dogs!
Nashville Portrait and Nature Photographer: Hope in a Harsh Winter
I am not going to sugar coat this, this winter has been rough and depressing. As much as I like to think that I like change, I realize it is anticipation of change and what it will bring, the not knowing, or what will happen…that is what I do not like. Life IS ever changing, transforming and all I can think about to give myself hope is, the butterfly and spring rolling around the corner. Life is a journey and I guess I have been stagnant and suffocating her for too long. Here I present some hope and beauty that winter gives to us:
Nashville Portrait Photographer: Happy New Year!!
And Happy New Decade! Two thousand ten. Twenty ten. Sounds good to me! Thanks to everyone who has supported my work and trusted me to photograph them. 2009 was a great year for change, learning, starting new things, getting back into art! Over the Christmas holiday I headed to Baltimore to spend time with my brother and his family. One day my sister in law and I went to Winterthur in Wilmington, Delaware. It was a winter wonderland!!

Nashville Family Photographer: We like Photos!
I first photographed these girls about two years ago, the youngest was just a baby! I see them about twice a year. I feel like I am part of the family. This session was especially fun and challenging. Fun because I got so many cool expressions, we got Daisy, the dog into the photos and mom loved my favorite light!! Challenging because the youngest would not cooperate at first as you will see in the first image.
Nashville Family Photographer: Lucy’s Family
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family. A great creative bunch they are! It was so much fun even though the weather was a bit dismal. Sweet kids with great style and Lucy, the dog who likes to hang out with the kids and is especially fond of chasing bubbles. Here are a few of my faves from that morning.

Lots of love for the pooch!

Nashville Dog Photographer: The Doggie Formerly Known as Gorj
He was so stinkin’ cute, the way he pranced around and the way he looked right into my eyes to communicate. Sadly, it was not meant to be. He was too much for Bear and within a few hours of his day spent with me, was already very territorial and possessive of me. Beau, which is his name now is super smart. He buried two bones in my backyard and could already sit and stay on command. So now he lives with a family on Overton Street and has a dog pal named Diesel, who looks like she could be his mama! All things happen for the best.

This cracked me up!

Gorj jumped up on the salad planters trying to peek into the living room.

Good dog!

Handsome dog!

Smart dog!
